OUR LADY OF REFUGE

​Fr. Hugo Rojas. He was born in Tunuyan, Mendoza, Argentina and was ordained to priestly ministry on December 6, 1997.  He served as a missionary for 10 years in Taiwan, in what he describes as a personally enriching experience in opening the Word of the Lord to a new people and their culture in a land that was brand new to him. Fr. Hugo arrived to our Diocese of San Jose in 2008 and was assigned to St. Mary’s Parish, in Gilroy. Five years later and as he tells it, a wonderful experience in that community as well, Fr. Hugo was incardinated formally into our Diocese of San Jose and he moved into a new chapter in his ministry serving our Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph until June 2017.

Father Hugo joyfully received Bishop McGrath’s appointment as the third Pastor for Our Lady of Refuge, and his heart is to be at service to the community. Let us all welcome Father Hugo Rojas into our OLR family.

P. Hugo Rojas, nacido en Tunuyan, Mendoza, Argentina ordenado sacerdote el 6 de diciembre de 1997, en la ciudad de San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina. Estuvo sirviendo como misionero por 10 años en Taiwán , esa fue una experiencia muy enriquecedora por abrir la Palabra de Dios a una cultura distinta de la suya.

Luego de 10 años, llego  a la Diócesis de San José en el año 2008 y desde entonces estuvo sirviendo en la Iglesia Santa María de Gilroy, lo que significó para el otra experiencia fantástica con la comunidad. Cinco años después,

Incardinado formalmente en la Diócesis de San José una nueva etapa comenzó en su ministerio cuando fue asignado como vicario parroquial en la Catedral Basílica San José hasta Junio del 2017. El Padre Hugo Rojas gozosamente recibió la asignación del Señor Obispo McGrath como el tercer Párroco de Nuestra Señora del Refugio, y su corazón está al servicio de la comunidad. Démosle pues todos, la bienvenida al Padre Hugo Rojas a nuestra familia de NSR.

Cha Hugo Roja  sinh ra ở Tunuyan, Mendoza, Argentina và được tấn phong linh mục ngày 6 tháng 12 năm 1997. Ngài phục vụ truyền giáo trong 10 năm ở Đài Loan, nơi đã đem lại cho ngài những kinh nghiệm cá nhân phong phú trong việc đem Lời Chúa đến với văn hóa và những con người ở một vùng đất mới mẻ đối với ngài. Cha Hugo đă đến Giáo phận San Jose năm 2008 và phục vụ 5 năm tại Giáo xứ Thánh Mary ở Gilroy, một cộng đoàn mà theo lời ngài cũng đã đem lại những kinh nghiệm tuyệt vời. Cha Hugo đă chính thức được bổ nhiệm vào Giáo phận San Jose và chuyển sang một chương mới trong sứ vụ phục vụ tại Nhà Thờ Chính Tòa Thánh Giuse cho đến bây giờ.  Cha Hugo rất vui mừng lãnh nhận bài sai của Đức Cha McGrath trong trách vụ làm Cha Chánh xứ thứ ba của cộng đoàn Đức Bà Chốn Tựa Nương và ngài sẽ hết lòng phục vụ cộng đoàn này.  Chúng ta hãy đón mừng Cha Hugo Rojas đến với đại gia đình ĐBCTN.
